Introduction

Lung cancer is a cancer that begins in the lungs. In 2020, lung cancer is a top no. 1 cancer in Hong Kong, it took around 16% of new cancer and the majority of which was people of age over 50, according to the statistics of Department of Health.

What are the symptoms?

Lung cancer does not have any signs and symptoms in its earliest stages. Signs and symptoms of lung cancer typically occur when the disease is advanced, it may include: a new cough, coughing up with a small amount of blood, shortness of breath, chest pain, hoarseness, losing weight suddenly, bone pain, headache.

What is the cause of lung cancer in Hong Kong?

In Hong Kong, cigarette smoking is the number one cause of lung cancer.Lung cancer also can be caused by using other types of tobacco such as pipes or cigars.

What kind of treatment is provided in Hong Kong?

Surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy are the most common treatment types for cancer and may be used alone or in combination to treat lung cancer of the lung. It depends on the doctor’s advice by taking into consideration the type and size of the tumour, whether the cancer has spread, your age and general health.

How to prevent it?

  1. Don’t smoke .
  2. Avoid smoking people with 2nd hand smoke .
  3. Avoid your exposure to high radiation.
  4. Eat a healthy diet, more fruits and vegetables.

Conclusion

People of Hong Kong dont you think it is foolish? Smoking is a bad thing, but people still do it, but at last they just harm themselves and have this disease lung cancer. But I hope in the future, people will stop smoking and live a happy life. You have one choice: if you smoke, you can never go back again! So when you want to smoke you need to think carefully!
