This year, our launch coincides with International Women’s Day, where we honour an exceptional all-female panel of remarkable women. Get ready to be inspired by the incredible lineup of trailblazing women, including MP Jess Phillips, Chief Executive at the British Science Association Hannah Russell, Olympian Heather Fisher, journalist and presenter of CBBC Newsround Emma-Louise Amanshia, cognitive neuropsychologist and epidemiologist Sarah Bauermeister, journalist Suyin Haynes, speaker Meena Wood, 2023 Global Young Journalist Award winner Jenin Al Shalabi, and journalist Rose Stokes!

What are the Global Young Journalist Awards?
Are you ready to become the next award-winning journalist? Well, you’re in luck because The Global Young Journalist Awards are here to help you unleash your inner storyteller!
This competition is free and accessible for all 7-18 year olds, with flexible formats and 10 categories including:

This contest offers young people worldwide the chance to share their stories and win their work published, a trophy, certificate and tech, not to mention feedback from our judges and journalists! (click here to read our competition T&C’s)
The competition was launched in 2022 by Richard Addis, founder and editor of The Day, and it is fast becoming the most prestigious of its kind. Last year the competition received a whopping 550 entries from every continent except Antarctica.
Participating in journalism allows you to develop a range of skills, such as storytelling, communication, research, global awareness, oracy, and fact-checking. Plus, it’s an excellent way to boost your confidence and literacy skills!
