Meet our 2023 supporters

Our 2023 awards were supported by the following amazing organisations. Together, we can continue to recognise and celebrate the excellence of young journalists from across the globe!

What are the Global Young Journalist Awards?

The Global Young Journalist Awards is an annual youth journalism competition that aims to inspire future generations of journalists to build a better world through storytelling. The Awards are free to enter and anyone aged 7-18 anywhere in the world can enter their story in any journalism format they wish.

Launched in 2022 by Richard Addis, founder and editor of the digital newspaper, The Day, these journalism awards are fast becoming the leading of its kind for young people.

Getting involved in journalism builds a number of skills from storytelling, communication, research, global awareness, oracy and fact-checking. It also helps to boost young people’s confidence and literacy skills.

Click here to read guidance and examples on each journalism format provided by The Day’s editorial team. More guidance and an entry pack will be made available from March 2024.
