Two of Trump’s ideas ideas that are ringing some alarm bells are “send them back” and “drill baby drill”.1 His idea for “drill Baby drill” is to pull the USA out of the Paris AgreementAn agreement signed by 196 countries to try to limit global warming. and increase oil production. His other idea, “send them back”, is to send back many, if not all, Mexican immigrants.
In Prospect magazine, legendary political scientist Francis FukuyamaAn American political scientist best known for his argument that the whole world will one day embrace liberal democracy. discussed Donald Trump’s anti-immigrant ideologies.2 The new president has, Fukuyama says, “already damaged American democracy”. Trump has described immigrants as “vicious violent criminals” who are “invading our towns” and will “cut your throat and won’t even think about the next morning”.
Donald Trump has rallied the working class of the USA into voting for him. When someone tried to assassinate him on 13 July 2024, near Butler, Pennsylvania ,he raised his fist as a symbol of power. For this, he received much more attention and sympathy.
There is so much suffering and Kamala Harris wanted to help the world, yet she still lost the race when she had better ideas. The Paris Agreement is a very important committee to make sure our Earth isn’t going to get any worse. Kamala had very good intentions with the Paris Agreement and yet the number of votes that Harris got wasn’t even close to Trump’s; it was a landslide win for him. Trump managed to rally enough Americans to vote for his questionable ideologies. How can this be?
