General election - In the UK, when an election is held for all 650 members of the House of Commons. One must take place every five years.
Scottish Parliament - Also known as Holyrood, the devolved legislature of the country of Scotland. It was founded in 1999, and makes rules for Scotland on areas that are not specifically covered by the UK parliament in Westminster.
Welsh Parliament - Also known as Senedd Cymru, it was founded in 1998 and makes laws for Wales on devolved matters that are not covered by the United Kingdom.
Taxes - There are three main ways for governments to obtain money: print it, borrow it or collect taxes.
