Its talents were discovered by journalist Brent Katz, writer Simon Rich and farmer Josh Morgenthau. The trio asked the AI to create copies of famous poets. 

Then they decided to ask it to make its own poetry. When asked "how it feels about humans", the AI responded: "they forgot about me".

A poetry-writing AI raises interesting questions. If an AI can write poems, does this mean the AI can think for itself? And does this mean it has a soulIn many religious and philosophical traditions, the soul is part of a person, often separate from our bodies, which contain our essence.?

Some think the answer might be yes. Former Google worker Blake Lemoine says that an AI's thoughts are copied from the human-created internet. Yet despite this, he claims that its thoughts might be as real as ours.

Yes! Code-davinci-002 has proved that it can create poems - and not simple ones either. Anything that can do that must have some kind of soul.
