Augmentative - Added to support or increase something — especially communication (tools that help someone communicate more).
Down syndrome - A genetic condition where a person has an extra full or partial copy of chromosome 21, resulting in 47 chromosomes instead of the usual 46, which changes how the body and brain develop and causes characteristic physical features and mild to moderate learning disabilities.
Diabetes - A medical condition causing there to be too much sugar in the blood.
Insulin - A hormone which controls blood sugar levels and helps your body to turn food into energy.
Prosthetic - An artificial body part, such as a limb.
Advocacy - Giving support to help others express their views and wishes, and to stand up for their rights.
