Chile - A country in western South America with a population of about 20 million. It is the southernmost country in the world and the closest to Antarctica.
Humpback whale - Humpbacks are particularly known for their singing. The males have a song which lasts for up to 20 minutes; they repeat it for hours at a time.
Bible - The collection of religious texts that are central to Christianity. The Bible includes the Old Testament and the New Testament.
Prophet - Somebody with special powers to tell the wishes of God or a divine being.
Nineveh - The name of an ancient Assyrian city in Mesopotamia that was the capital of the Neo-Assyrian Empire. It is also a name used today for a part of Mosul, Iraq.
Preach - Spread the word about a religion to non-believers.
Ferocious - Savagely fierce, cruel or violent.
Vows - Solemn promises.
Erred - To have made a mistake or done something wrong.
Catastrophic - Involving or causing sudden great damage or suffering.
Perilous - Dangerous.
Pandemics - When a disease spreads across an extremely large area, or the entire world. A pandemic is more severe than an epidemic.
Trillion - One thousand times bigger than a billion.
Orcas - Orcas are related to dolphins and are often called killer whales. This is because they were seen by sailors as fearsome hunters, who would even hunt other whales.
Prophecy - Making predictions about what will happen in the future.
