World Economic Forum - An independent organisation based in Switzerland which is committed to improving the world.
Davos - Davos is the informal name of the annual, four-day conference held by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland. According to WEF's website, the aim is to "engage the foremost political, business, cultural, and other leaders of society to shape global, regional, and industry agendas".
Jargon - The specialised vocabulary, technical terms, or insider language used by a specific group, profession, or hobby that is often hard for outsiders to understand.
Authoritarian - Enforcing strict obedience to authority.
Tariffs - A form of tax on imports.
Diplomacy - The art of dealing with people in a sensitive way.
allies - An ally is someone that aligns with and supports a cause with another individual or group of people.
Gaza - The smaller of two Palestinian territories, home to two million people. It is located on the Mediterranean coast, bordered by Israel and Egypt.
United Nations - An international organisation focused on keeping peace. Its refugee agency, the UNHCR, aims to assist refugees around the world.
Transatlantic Partnership - The close, cooperative relationship between the United States and European nations (specifically the EU and UK) based on shared economic, political, and security interests.
