Imagine visiting your favourite cafe. You can smell the coffee and see the cakes. However, when you reach the counter to make an order, the baristaA person who makes and serves coffee for a living. has been replaced by a metal robot.
An American company called Figure has created an AIA computer programme that has been designed to think. -powered robot that is able to complete human tasks. Their robot can already make a cup of coffee.
Figure has raised £534m from some of the world's biggest tech companies. According to its boss Brett Adcock, their robots "can do basically everything a human can do".
Some think this could be a good thing. The robots could do jobs that are too dangerous for humans.
But others think that the robots could leave humans out of work. Because AI is moving so quickly, nobody can predictSay what you think is about to happen. the future.
Technology has always changed how we work, but humans have learnt to adapt. Today, machines in factories make many things that were once made by hand. But most people still have other jobs they can do!
