He now controls Twitter, renamed 'X'. announced that his company had successfully put a microchipA very small piece of material containing electric circuits that hold lots of information. into the brain of a human. He said anyone with a microchip should be able to control their phone or computer just by thinking!

The microchip is called Telepathy. It can read the signals that the brain sends out to other parts of the body.

The word "cyborg" means someone who is partly human and partly a machine.

Here are some reasons why cyborgs may be a good thing:

Health hopes Telepathy should allow paralysedUnable to move. people to move their bodies using their thoughts.

Mental massage Implants could be used to help with mental health problems.

Data delivery Collecting information from people's brains will be very helpful to scientific research.

Hands-free You would not need to carry around a laptop if you could control things with your brain.

Should we be glad?

Yes! This could be great news for doctors. The microchips could help them to find lots of answers to people's health problems. And it might make everyone's life a little bit easier.

No! We should want to stay human - and only human. We should not want to be part machine. And imagine if someone used your brain chip to try to control you!
