What was the Holocaust?

Tomorrow is Holocaust Memorial Day — a day when people around the world pause to reflect on one of the worst horrors of the 20th Century. During the Holocaust, six million Jewish people in Europe were systematically murdered. Other groups were also targeted, including gay people and people with disabilities. How can we ensure that it never happens again? The first step is to understand what the Holocaust was, and how it happened. This video from BBC Newsround provides an introduction.
