Does speaking two languages help the brain?

In the past, people thought that being bilingual was a bad thing, especially for children. They assumed it would confuse children and cause their language development skills to be delayed. They could not have been more wrong. It turns out that bilingual people enjoy a range of advantages, from enhanced cognitive control to better memory, visual-spatial skills and even creativity.
