Could the Dune sandworms be real?

Millions worldwide are flocking to cinemas for the much-anticipated release of Dune: Part Two. It is a futuristic film, dreamed up a long time ago. Frank Herbert wrote his science fiction world in 1965, more than half a century ago — before we knew much of what we know today about other planets, galaxies and worlds. So how realistic is Dune?
