They may seem small and innocuous, but bees are one of the most essential components of our ecosystem. One in every three mouthfuls of our food depends on pollinators. They contribute billions of pounds to our economy. And in the UK, bees have their own "B-Line" transport system, a network of pathways that link wildlife areas together to make it easier for the bees to find their way around. But colonies of bees have been rapidly disappearing, with up to 90% of local bee populations disappearing in some parts of the world.
