Glossary
YouGov - A British public opinion and polling company. It was co-founded by Nadhim Zahawi, a Conservative Party politician.
Think tank - A research organisation focusing on a certain topic, such as climate policy or education. They often produce information used by businesses, governments and big organisations.
Public First - A UK-based policy, research and opinion consultancy. It was founded in 2016 by two former Conservative advisers.
Disillusionment - A feeling of disappointment after finding out something is not as good as you thought.
Right - The "right" (or "right-wing") tends to align with conservative and traditional ideologies, often emphasising individual responsibility, limited government, and traditional social structures.
Left-wing - A range of beliefs that are the opposite of right-wing ideas. People on the political left usually believe in collective responsibility and the good of society. They often, though not always, support higher taxes and a more active, interventionist government.
Precarious - Unpredictable; uncertain.
BAME - Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic.
Patriotism - Showing love and pride for your country.
