But the show has made headlines for a different reason. In the first episode, Alexander kisses another man.
On the show, one expert says that Hephaestion, a young man, was not just Alexander's friend. In fact, he was Alexander's "greatest love". Another expert says that same-sex relationships were very normal in the ancient Greek world.
Alexander was married three times - to women. Twice, he married for politics. But many think his first marriage to the princess Roxana was "a love match".
Dr Jeanne Reames is another expert on Alexander. Reames says that Alexander looked for relationships with both men and women. When Hephaestion died, he was very upset - and even had the doctor that treated Hephaestion killed.
