David Dimbleby - An English journalist and BBC presenter, born in 1938. He is known for his election night coverage.
MP - Member of Parliament. There are 650 MPs representing people in different areas of the UK.
European Union - A political and economic union of 27 countries.
David Cameron - The UK's Conservative Party prime minister from 2010 to 2016.
Theresa May - The prime minister of the UK between 2016 and 2019. Her attempts to secure a Brexit deal ultimately failed, resulting in her resignation.
parliament - An assembly of representatives, usually of an entire nation, that makes laws.
Boris Johnson - The Conservative Prime Minister of the UK and head of the government from 2019 to 2022.
10 Downing Street - The official residence of the British prime minister.
Nigel Farage - A British politician and broadcaster who has served as Leader of Reform UK since June 2024.
Green Party - A centre-left party largely focused on environmental politics. It formed part of a coalition government with the Social Democrats between 1998 and 2005.
GDP - Short for Gross Domestic Product, the measure of all the goods and services produced inside a country.
Protectionism - The idea or act of protecting a country's domestic industries by taxing imports from foreign countries.
Bloc - A group of countries or political parties who have formed an alliance.
Rebate - A refund to a person or group who has paid too much.
Erratic - Unpredictable and uncontrolled.
