Pledges - A serious promise to do or give something, or an item given to guarantee that a promise will be kept.
Pessimism - Always expecting the worst.
Emissions - Things that are released, such as gases, as part of a process. E.g. greenhouse gases.
Paris Agreement - An agreement signed by 196 countries to try to limit global warming.
Renewable energy - Energy sources, such as wind and solar power, that do not use up fossil fuels and pollute the environment.
