Nepal - A landlocked country in south Asia. Thirty million people live there.
Discord - Disagreement. Also the name of an instant messaging and communication platform that is heavily used by gamers.
Corruption - When someone abuses their power for personal gain. It often involves bribery.
Gen Z - Short for Generation Z, meaning people born in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
Ideologically - Relating to a set of beliefs or principles, especially one on which a political system is based.
Soviets - The people and especially the political or military leaders of the Soviet Union.
Clandestine - Done in a secretive way.
Arab Spring - A series of mass protests across the Arab World against dictatorships that had stood for decades. In Tunisia, the protesters succeeded in creating a democratic government, but many other countries collapsed into civil war or experienced new dictatorships.
Middle East - The lands around the east of the Mediterranean Sea and Arabia.
Downturns - A fall in economic activity.
Populists - Populism is a political approach whereby a politician tries to appeal to ordinary people who feel that they have been let down by elite groups.
Greta Thunberg - A teenage climate activist who inspired a mass environmental movement by schoolchildren in 2018, when she was just 15 years old. She has since spoken at the UN and been nominated twice for the Nobel Peace Prize.
