Should supersize portions be banned?

In Britain, the average person consumes an extra 17,000 calories every year thanks to a process called “upselling”: when waiting staff, baristas or fast food workers offer customers larger portion sizes. But in a country where obesity has been described as “the public health challenge of our generation”, should unhealthy portions be banned? What do you think?
