Is university a waste of money?

Amid a major review of tuition fees, a committee of MPs has warned that universities are not delivering value for money for their students. The average student now graduates with around £50,000 of debt. And yet, roughly half of recent graduates are working in jobs that do not require a degree. Is university a waste of money?
