Is it wrong to remove people’s citizenship?

Last month, Home Secretary Sajid Javid stripped the “ISIS bride” Shamima Begum of her British citizenship. Now her baby has died, and two more women have had their citizenship revoked. Technically, it is against international law to make someone “stateless” (i.e., someone with no official nationality). Is it always wrong to take away someone’s citizenship?
