Is female violence empowering?

We are used to seeing fictional women as victims — not the perpetrators of violence. But, now, Killing Eve (about a Russian assassin as glamorous as she is ruthless) is putting murderous women in the spotlight. The show’s writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge has said that women being violent on TV is “refreshing and, oddly, empowering”. Others argue that violence should never be celebrated — whoever commits it.
