Are some lives worth more than others?

Soon, self-driving cars may have to decide. If they have a choice between sacrificing their four passengers, or swerving and killing a pedestrian, which should they choose? What if the pedestrian is a criminal? Or a baby? Researchers at MIT have analysed 40 million responses to these questions from around the world. Are some people’s lives more worth saving than others?
