Humans are often hateful towards people who are different.

But many point out that this does not have to be true - and it has not always been true. Gay men were part of native American groups more than 500 years ago.

Today is the first day of LGBT+ history month in the UK. Many hope this month is just one opportunity to start making hatred a thing of the past.

Yes! Of course we can. Different groups have accepted and respected LGBTQ+ for hundreds of years. We need to un-learn any learned hatred.

No! Sadly, humans are often hateful towards people who are not like them, or like most other people in the group. There is a long way to go to change this.
