Now, eight years later, the meme has been sold. A collector bought it for 25 Ether. This is equal to £54,000.

Chloe is not the first meme to be sold for a fortuneBezos vies with Elon Musk for the title of the richest person in the world. Musk's fortune is currently estimated at 135.5bn.. In February, the Nyan Cat meme sold for $600,000. And this year, Doge broke the record by selling for $3m.

No! Real art has a serious side. They ask important questions, even if they are funny. Memes are just silly jokes. Artists train for years to make their work. Anyone can take a photo or a video. It is crazy that a meme of a dog should cost more than a classic painting by a famous artist.

Why not? Art is a mirror to our life. We live in a digital world. Memes reflect that. There is a reason memes are popular with millions of people. And the people who made them and are in them deserve to get some money from it. Lots of art was not popular when it was first made but becomes a classic. We should celebrate memes!
