What's happening?
This week is Anti-Bullying Week in the UK. It is a time to think about those who are bullied. It is also a chance to help stop bullying for good.
The theme is One Kind Word. Its goal is to teach everyone that being kind can spread from person to person.

Scientists recently held a surveyWhen you ask a group of people questions about what they think about a particular topic. . Almost 15,000 schoolchildren filled it in.
The result showed that bullying is a big problem. More than 20% said they were bullied a lot.
But it is not all bad. Another survey found that 74% of pupils think their school friends are kind to them.
Lauren Seager-Smith is in charge of a charity called KidscapeA London-based charity created to protect children.. She says kindness is important for a happy time at school.
Some scientists think being thoughtful is something we can practise and get better at.

Some say
Yes! When we are kind we can see how it makes others feel good. This makes us feel good. It makes a circle of happiness.
Others say
No. Some people are naturally kind. They feel for others. They do not need to practice. It works the same the other way around.
