Champion retires at 25 to chase new dreams
Is Ash Barty right to turn her back on tennis? She has announced she'll be retiring from professional tennis at the age of just 25.
What's happening?
On Wednesday, Ash Barty posted a video on social media. In it, she was talking to a friend. But soon after it was public, thousands of people were talking about it.
Why? Because one of the world's best tennis players was quitting tennis.
Ash Barty is 25 and comes from Australia. She has played tennis for most of her life.
She won her first big tournament in 2019. It was the French Open. Since then, she has had a lot of success.

In January, Barty won the Australian Open. She was the first Australian woman to win the cup in 44 years.
But now she has chosen to quit. She says she wants to follow other dreams.
In her video, she explained: "I'll never, ever stop loving tennis, it's been a massive part of my life. But I think it's important that I get to enjoy the next part of my life as Ash Barty the person, not Ash Barty the athlete."
Is Ash Barty right to turn her back on tennis?
Yes! She should be allowed to focus on other things that matter to her. Ash is a person, not just a tennis player. She has had lots of success. Now she can succeed at other things!
No. Being an athlete is about working hard when things get tricky. Ash is only 25. That is not a long enough time to really succeed. She should not give up so easily.
