What's happening?

Nobody seemed to know quite what to think. Kanye West, one of the world's biggest music stars, had taken to Instagram and Twitter. He said that another rapper, P Diddy, was being controlled by "the Jewish people". 

Kanye West's comments were clearly untrue. But they were also anti-SemiticShowing hatred or prejudice towards Jewish people. , meaning they showed hatred towards Jewish people. He was soon locked out of his Twitter and Instagram accounts.

Some worry that beliefs like Kanye West's are becoming more common. In Britain, just over a quarter of people have negativeBad. feelings about Muslim people.¹

But others say that most people disagree with West. Nearly half of all Britons think more should be done to make life better for Black and Asian people, so that everyone can have the same chances in life. This is many more people than 20 years ago.
