'An enormous environmental monster-in-waiting'
Can we count on adults? Amy and Ella Meek, 18 and 16 from the UK, founded Kids Against Plastic in 2016 after finding out for the first time about the horrors of plastic pollution.
What's happening?
Amy and Ella are sisters who fight for the planet by picking up rubbish.
Growing up, they did not worry about plastic. It was everywhere. But one day, they learnt what it could do to animals and plants. They made a change.

The sisters found out about the sea creatures being harmed by plastic. Turtles could choke on forks. Fish could get stuck in old bags.
Amy and Ella started picking up litter. They were good at it. But they needed help. There was too much rubbish!
In 2016, they started a charity. Kids Against Plastic teaches people about the danger of plastic waste.
Ella says that the grown-ups do not care enough. It is down to young people to save the planet.
Can we count on adults?
Some say
No. Adults made this problem. Now they are ignoring it! Children are the ones who will live in the future. It is up to them to fix it.
Others think
Yes! We should not give up on them. They have not been good so far. But next week COP26 is a chance for them to show everyone how much they care.
